ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU
Château Branaire-Ducru became a parcel detached from the Beychevelle estate in the middle of the 17th century, when on the death of Bernard de la Valette, Duke of Epernon, its assets were handed over to the crown of France to liquidate its debts. In 1680, Jean-Baptiste Braneyre bought the estate. His descendants, the Duluc family, built the current Château in 1824. It then passed into the hands of a relative, Gustave Ducru. In 1988, Château Branaire-Ducru became the property of a French family group, chaired by Patrick Maroteaux.
