ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU
Château Lalande-Borie was created in 1970 by Jean-Eugène Borie. The former merchant in Bordeaux acquired the Lalande land from a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien. The 30-hectare estate, including 22 hectares of vines, has never left the bosom of the family and it is Madame Borie and her children, Sabine Coiffe and Bruno-Eugène Borie, who have now taken up the torch. Bruno Borie is the current president of Jean-Eugène Borie SA, which is also in charge of the Ducru-Beaucaillou, Ducluzeau and Fourcas-Dupré castles. Located in the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelles in Gironde in the Bordeaux vineyards, the Château has been producing red wines of the Saint-Julien appellation classified as Cru Bourgeois du Médoc since 2008. The vineyard, in one piece, is made up of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Over the years, Château Lalande-Borie has earned a good reputation among the estates of the appellation thanks to its refined wines sold at an excellent quality/price ratio.
