Appellation | Lalande-de-Pomerol

Grape |  86% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc

Ageing | 16 months in French oak barrels (1/4 new oak and 3/4 of year oak)

Tasting Notes | Serious depth of fruit to this wine with round and ripe tannins, chocolate and spice character 

Pairing | Wild game, soft cheeses

ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU


Created in 1770, the Château Chumbrun which has been called Château Moncets since 1770 is the oldest vineyard and bears the name of the Général de Moncets who bought it in 1872. Repurchased many years later in 2012 by a French family-owned company, the vines and cellars have since been fully renovated and rehabilitated in order to sustain the estate and thus integrate into it a second chateau, Château Chambrun.

Soils: Clay

Farming: Naturally grown grass in vineyards. Conversion to organic farming practices

Vines: On average 40 years of age
