DOMAINE DE L'AURAGE 2019
ABOUT THE WINE
As you may imagine. This wine is a favourite of mine. I buy it for my own consumption every year. I find you can already enjoy this vintage now, but give it an hour decanter. Or lock it away.:)
Appellation | Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux AOP
Grape | 95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
Ageing | Aged 18 months in 80% new barrels
Tasting Notes | Earthy, dark red fruits with a touch of herbs, olives and forest leaf on the nose. Medium-bodied, soft, fruity and filled with licorice, black cherries and kirsch, give this a few years in the cellar before popping a cork
Pairing | This is great wine to pair with grilled duck breast, and most game meats.
Drinking | 2024-2040. Can easily be enjoyed now with a good hour of deacntering.
Critic Notes / Awards | 91/100 Jeff Leve, Vertdevin 94/100,
