Appellation | Saint-Émilion (Grand Cru)

Grape |  79% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 1% Pertit Verdot

Ageing | 100% new French oak barrels for 30 months 

Tasting Notes | "Big plums and blackberries are the dominant component of this rich and chocolatey St.-Emilion. However, the wine also has a serious tannin structure and more than enough acidity on the powerful and long finish to carry all this extravagance. Drink or hold" James Suckling

ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU


This property has been run from father to son by members of the Lavau family for more than two centuries. It is a well known name in Saint Emilion because several members of the family were jurats. The main building, the seat of this family estate, dates from 1854 (engraved in stone).

 

Current Owner: Pierrick & Karine Lavau. 8th Generation 

Soils: Clay & limestones

Farming: Organic growing & hand harvested 

Vines: Average age 40 years old
