ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU

Château Mongravey is the Bernaleau family, with Régis who inherited his father's estate in 1980. His destiny is linked to another estate, Château de Braude, which shares the same vineyard but whose vines are more simply classified in Haut-Médoc. A total of 19 hectares are shared between the two estates, distributed in roughly equal parts.
In 1999, they began a vast campaign of work: installation of thermoregulation and above all, renovation and air conditioning of the cellar. The quality of the wines was quickly affected and in 2003, the work of Régis and Karin Bernaleau - his wife, who manages marketing and communication - was rewarded with the classification of the two estates as Cru Bourgeois.
Since then, the reputation of Bernaleau wines has continued to grow, in particular that of Mongravey, whose wines blend nobility with the most subtle cuisine. In the vineyards, they have chosen a traditional viticulture that respects the terroirs and the environment.

Soils: Garonne gravel from the Quaternary era composed of sand and pebbles

Farming: 100% hand harvested

Vines: On average 25 years of age
