ABOUT THE CHÂTEAU
In 2017 it will be 150 years since the BALLANDE family acquired this wine-growing gem; which has existed since the 4th century; in 2016 a new management was installed to magnify this cru with a responsible organic philosophy. CHATEAU BARET is one of the rare INTRAMUROS vineyards, a vestige of the first Bordeaux vineyards of the Gallo-Roman era.
Current Owner: BALLANDE family
Soils: Combined with the classic gravelly-sandy and gravelly-clay soils of the great terroirs of the left bank of Bordeaux, the conditions are met for the production of great red wines. The colder clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils are reserved for whites.
Vines: On average 30 years of age
